The mountain forms are generally the hardiest of materials the glacier cannot erode. Materials used in this project where reminiscent of that. Exposed concrete floors, steel structural columns and beams, combine with schist stone cladding and sheet steel features. All strong robust materials providing a sense of strength and attachment to the landscape. Softer furnishings and timber features add a sense of warmth and snugness to the spaces where you can sit back and take in the famous Wanaka views.
